If you are lucky to wander back into your compound or other compound where you are known, an antidote, usually other herbs, would be administered to you to reverse the effect of the plant and restore the person to normal. Otherwise, recovery only happens when the effect wears off, which may take a day or too.
House plants and crops do not usually grow around that particular plant. To us children, the plant was simply a wonder. What is it that made it that powerful? We wondered. Now as an adult I am even surprised that the villagers did not take to worshiping the plants with the hope of some benefits. Maybe because its effect was considered harmful. And as you know, further study of plants and herbs has been relegated into a far distant alternative since the advent of synthetic medicine.
It is only now, as an adult, that I knew the nature of the plant. The plant simply has a very high vibration rate. When an individual touches it, it will instantly cause the individual’s body atoms to vibrate at the same rate with the plant making the person to be unbalanced.
As said before, all forms of life vibrate and plants are no exception. They vibrate at different rates. No two plants, or parts of a plant, vibrate at the same rate. Just like our body. This is why you can use different parts of the same plant to cure different ailments, or address the energy level need of different parts of the human body, and consequently the entire system.
In some cases, you need a combination of herbs to achieve the level of vibration needed for a particular healing. It is the same with orthodox medicine where different drugs are prescribed and administered together to achieve the desired result. The same principle was followed in countering the effect of the plant in my village. By the way, I think the plant is now extinct because I no longer hear of it when I go home. Or because most the forests have given way to residential places or used as farmland.
A friend of mine told me of a dream he had. In the dream he was at a hospital where a particular Iron drug was prescribed for an ailment he was suffering. However, when he went to the nurse for the drug, the nurse gave him only one caplet and told him that they are short of it in the hospital. The nurse volunteered an alternative – a herbal nut.
My friend believes so much in the reality of dreams, so when he woke up he decided to check the drug name on the internet. He had never heard of that drug name before. Alas it was there on the internet. However, the List price was between $120 and $150. He checked all the big pharmacies in his locality but none had heard of that brand talk less of having it. Buying it through the net was out of the question owing to its dollar cost. Finally he settled for the alternative, the herbal nut. The effect was wonderful.
At this point I want to put in a caveat. Our bodies are different. What works for one person, under the same dis-ease condition, may not be appropriate for another. Further, what may have worked for you, in treating a particular disease today, may not work well for you in the future, under the same disease condition.
The society owes itself the responsibility of placing equal premium on the research and development of different healing streams. Or continue to short change itself.
